Ford launched 2019 Transit Connect Wagon on Thursday in a press event at the Chicago Auto Show. The company is aiming the vehicle directly at active baby boomers and families who need a combination of versatility, and tech with less price tag.
The refreshed vehicle can bring up to seven people and includes a tweaked fascia, technology updates, and new engine options.
The wagon can be easily converted to small business needs and then change to hobbies and grandkids. It has a range of all-new gas at 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gas engine, or a 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel and a suite of driver-assist technologies. Besides, it packs automatic emergency braking as standard and adaptive cruise control which slows the vehicles after detecting traffic.
Other dependable technologies in the Wagon include blind spot information system, lane-keeping assist systems, and cross-traffic alert to detect vehicles around the Wagon. The pricing for the 2019 Transit Connect Wagon hasn’t been announced.
The vehicle comes with a standard 4G LTE modem which provides Wi-Fi and 6.5-inch touch screen center console along with voice-command technology. The new Transit Connect Wagon is available in XL, XLT and Titanium trim levels. The XLT and Titanium trims contain wireless charging. There is a new Ford plus Alexa assistant technology in SYNC 3 infotainment system.
“From being easy to get in and out of, plus flexible seating and cargo space, Transit Connect Wagon makes it convenient for boomers to keep enjoying family time or explore new hobbies and careers,” says, Ford vice president, U.S. marketing, sales and service, Mark LaNeve.
