Blizzard recently released a new Overwatch map called BlizzardWorld. This new map is essentially an amusement park themed from various Blizzard games. Nevertheless, the anticipated arrival of the new hero for Overwatch has also been revealed.
There were also new skins that are in theme to the BlizzardWorld. These skins will make characters look like the heroes in some awesome Blizzard games. Along with the announcements about the World of Warcraft new expansion pack, the free-to-play Starcraft, and new Hearthstone expansion; Overwatch’s new hero is also a hit. This new hero is the 5th hero character added since Overwatch released in May 2016. Moira is the name of a support hero that can deal high damage while healing allies.
From the character introduction, Moira is a powerful support hero working for Talon. Moira is said to be “OP AF” if Jeff Kaplan’s comment is to be considered. Kaplan is Overwatch’s game director.
Moira’s Ability Set
Playing Moira will be very challenging to all gamers. She could a best ally or the worst enemy depending on how you will use her. What makes her more dreadful for everyone is her set of abilities. She has four abilities and they are elaborated in detail below.
Moira’s first ability is the Biotic Grasp in which she can expend her biotic energy in healing her comrades with her left hand. On the other hand, it shoots long-range beams that can sap enemy’s health. In short, Moira can heal and deal damage. She takes in the damage and adds it to her depleted biotic energy.
What makes her left hand at a disadvantage is its short reach. Moira can only heal when she’s closer to those who need healing. Furthermore, she can use her both hands at the same time. Quite a terrific ability, don’t you think?
Moira’s second ability is clearly a very powerful ability. She will launch a rebounding biotic sphere that can either heal allies or deal damage to enemies.
Biotic Orb is an excellent ability when there’s good formation, good setup, and good crowd control ability. Therefore, Moira can effectively turn the tide when your team’s at a disadvantage towards victory. But only if these conditions are met. Indeed, her role in the game is very vital.
Moira’s ability allows her to come closer to her allies thus creating more chances to engage with the enemy’s assault. If Moira’s first move is Fade and quickly changes to Biotic Grasp, then she can deal a lot of damage towards the opposite team. Then, using Fade again, Moira can teleport a short distance away from the enemy.
The more clever players tend to hunt first the support heroes to lessen their burden in eliminating the tanks. As such, her third ability will enable her to escape and run a short distance away from the enemy’s assault.
Moira’s ultimate ability is quite formidable. She channels a long-range beam that can heal allies and deal damage to enemies. This ability is very powerful that even barriers cannot withstand its tremendous power. With a good set up and execution, this ability can save a dying ally or slaughter an enemy in one hit.
With Moira’s powerful abilities, no wonder a lot of players are vying to play her. However, Moira’s OPness is nothing if you don’t have the ultimate strategy and well-though gameplay that will dominate the battleground.
